Who would pay for a student teacher?
By Connie

Clip to ScrapBook
Dear ones,

Student teachers are there to practice their newly acquired skills from college and learn from their supervisors. Now, where do you think the money would come from if you did get paid? The school district? No, they would prefer to hire a certified person. Your college? It would be funded right from your tuition. There is no magic to this issue.
Student teachers need to realize that most cooperating teachers receive NOTHING to compensate all the time we put into the student teachers. No offense, having a student teacher is usually no benefit to the cooperating teacher.

Be submissive and grateful that there are teachers who will accept a student teacher. Most of the experienced people in my building say NO!
Connie
