WORD WALL By Candy

I just thought I'd share two idea I use: First, I bought a trifold board for displays at "Staples." I decorated it with blue background paper and a brown mountain. We practice climbing the "Sight Word Mountain." The words are placed on the mountain with velcro tabs as we learn them. I can then rearrange the words any time I wish. The childen can take a word to their seat to copy whenever they wish. I can also manipulate the display closer to the children as they practice writing for small groups. Second, I make sight word cards for each child. I put them on a ring so that the children can use | | them whenever they are writing. I add the words as they are introduced. The children take them out of their toolboxs and drill each other when they finish their work. They enjoy taking them home at the end of the year to study over the summer.
