Step Up to Writing

I was just trained with this writing program and I love it. Our school district is going to adopt it. Basically, it is color coded Green for topic sentences, yellow for main ideas and red (pink highlighter) for reasons to support the main ideas. Green again for the concluding sentence. Kids still use graphic organizers to brainstorm, but then they color the ideas and move it to an informal outline.Works across the curriculum for notetaking as well and it is adaptable for all grades. We noticed in our school a huge difference in the writing with kids that did "step up" last year.
Their writing was much more detailed.
