Teaching Strategy
By Jamee

Clip to ScrapBook
Being strict can be an important classroom management strategy. It should be used in conjunction with a host of other classroom management strategies. Some that I use are fostering interpersonal relationships, forming a
democratic classroom, permitting students as much freedom as their responsibility allows, showing empathetic understanding, showing realness, using humor, designing interesting instruction, and several other strategies. A good teacher is constantly using one or more strategies at the same time. It all comes together about being a good classroom manager. Situations will arise such as
students asking certain questions where using humor would work better than being strict. Classroom teachers find it much better when trained and experienced in classroom management; they don’t rely on any one strategy but rather rely on those strategies that work best in each unique situation.
