That helps

Clip to ScrapBook
Antarctica is a great topic to explore. You should make it like an expedition. Discuss the unique topics about what lives there, how cold, etc. Also discuss how large the continent it. Most students and people think it
is larger than it really is because of the flat map experience. You could have a great lesson on the difference between a globe and flat map. Talk to students about what you do to prepare for an expedition. Plot the path using latitude and longitude. You can even talk about the scientist that got cancer during her expedition there. Give them journal entries they have to write durint
their adventure as scientists. Talk about the differnt scientists that have gone to antarctica and why. DIscuss how global warming can upset the balance of snow caps. What scientific experiements are going on there today. Some of them might be online or the discovery channel.
