Teaching is a wonderful career.Teaching can have its problems but than most jobs do. You have to remember these posts are just vents. The majority of vents are about negative or troubling things in teaching. So you are getting
a lopsided look at teaching. To help you make up mind why don't you could spend sometime visiting a school or grade you are interested in to get a clearer picture of the real day to day teaching experience. Pick a grade or subject you really like and observe the class for a few days or more to see how it really functions. Observing a class with an experienced exemplary teacher is different
than sub.teaching. It will give you a whole different perspective on teaching.Call your state ed licensing depart. and find out what is needed to renew your license. It doesn't hurt to call and ask for info. Once you get your license issues are taken care of then you can decide if you can make the commitment for one year-- Sept to June. IMHO you would need one year in your own classroom to see if this is really the place for you. BN
