taking it for talking
By Chicago Teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
I would have taken the test. First, because you said you were going to. Second, because the boy should know better. I have taken tests away many times, pretest or regular test. How am I supposed to judge whether or not they
are talking about the test or something else?

On another note, I get very annoyed with 100's of questions asking me to repeat a word or sentence. I phase in a policy that I don't repeat the sentences or words once I've said the word the 3 or so times I will say it. I don't do that right away, but as the weeks go on [at first, any questions, then they may only ask for 1 word to be

repeated, etc.], and then I warn them that they need to be listening because I won't repeat the word at the end (I only allow questions after ALL the words are finished, if I'm allowing questions). At first it can be rough on the kids, but they get used to it.
