You can write sentences on index cards that would have exclamation points, periods, or quetion marks at the ends. Give those to half the class. Then to the other half of the class, give index cards with exclamation points,
periods, and question marks (I am assuming you have already taught these two basic punctuations). Play a short song where the kids have to find a partner as fast as they can before the song ends and then read the sentence with the right expression according to the punctuation used.

You can also have 10 sentences with exclamation points written on sentence strips. Cut the sentence

strips apart between words, including the exclamation point. Bag them. Give one to each group (there should be 10 groups of 2, if you have 20 kids; you can adjust the number to fit your class). Have them put the words and exclamation point out in front of them, and put the sentence back together with the exclamation point. When all groups have finished, invite them to read their sentences, using appropriate expression, to the class.

Hope this helps. I just now made these ideas up so I think I am going to use them, too!
