teaching up north

I am currently teaching in the north. I was born and raised here. The north needs teachers and it is not a bad place if you make the most of what you have. For example in most communities you are very isolated. However, some communities do have winter roads. Many teachers will be in the same situation as you: being far from the familiar and therefore you have support. I teach in the sahtu and in my home community they hired almost a whole new staff. The reason being that most teachers were there for 3 years and were ready to move on.
