Spelling Homework
By Jen M

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! I also teach third grade. Every Thursday is Spelling homework night in my room. I send home a spelling contract or bingo sheet and the student can choose which way to complete their spelling homework. Some of the activities
on the contract/bingo sheet include: Write a poem using 10 of your words, write a story using your words, rainbow words(write spelling words in colored pencil in color), write words making vowels red and consonants blue, pyramid words, reverse pyramid words, three times each in best cursive, three times each typed, create a word search using spelling words, etc.

Pyramid words example:
s
st
sta
stap
stapl
staple

Reverse

pyramid words example:
store
stor
sto
st
s

On Tuesdays I always give math homework reviewing whatever concept we are working on and Wednesday night is reading night (students take home reading book and read story of the week) Hope this helps!!
