movie review

Clip to ScrapBook
I don't have a formal way of summarizing. I tell they know how to summarize because when they see a movie or t.v. show and talk to someone about it, they're summarizing. Sometimes they tell the ending, sometimes not. If it's a book report, and other students will read the book, I don't want the ending given away.

Also, using some of SQ3R, scanning the pages helps when writing summaries. I do verbal summaries in small groups during reading time. A student reads a page aloud, and we stay on that page while the same student retells what he/she read. You could have another student retell. It helps in thinking about whole page.
