I'm just writing to say that I'm with you on the frustration. In a district I sub in, I have to take attendance for the corporation, for the teacher, and for the office, while still trying to maintain a cooperative classful of students. The office list has to be taken during each class period. Another thing that bugs me is that some students are not absent, but are in "all day detention". I know I've counted several absent because of this, but if the teacher does not notify me of this, I don't have a clue, and I can't always believe the students that are in the class.
