Clip to ScrapBook
Pro: the student is no longer disrupting you class.
Con: the student is disrupting someone else's class!
I read this suggestion on another board and rather liked it: Move the student's desk so it faces yours (when possible). Do not leave the student's side (when possible). Do not allow the student to participate in group or partner work - make him/her work alone because you don't want him/her to disrupt other students. Basically, be on his/her back all the time. Make him/her walk directly behind you when going to gym/library. Do not allow him/her out for recess. Explain that when he/she behaves correctly, he/she will begin to earn back those privelages. Do not give him/her one single break until he /she behaves more responsibly.
