Gifts for the class and me!

I always have had a gift exchange but about six years ago I decided to do a wrapped book exchange. Everyone brings books as their gifts. I order with points from Scholastic a book for each student and hand write each one a christmas mesage from me. In my note to the parents explaining the book exchange I also ask that if they are planning a "teacher" gift to please send as my gift a book for our class library. The children always love their book whether it comes from Barnes and Nobles or the dollar store. ( I do have girls exchange to girls and Boys exchange with boys ) Afterwards they can't wait until storytime to see who's gift book I will read aloud.
