I'm sorry ... "You can come see me get married, but we don't want you at our reception." Please!! Tacky!! ANY etiquette you will read will tell you how self-centered this is. Inviting someone to your wedding ceremony
but not extending the invitation to the reception assumes people want to take time out of their day to go a church, watch you get married, then go home without celebrating with you. I think that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. If you invited me to your wedding and not the reception, I would laugh in your face and wonder where you got your all-important attitude from,
and I probably would change my opinion of you if I thought highly of you. Your wedding isn't important to others like it is to you, family, and close friends.
