S.S. games
By Misty Kassebaum

Clip to ScrapBook
I play a game called SWAT to review for Social Studies and Science vocabulary. It's pretty simple and the kids love it.
Materials needed: vocabulary words written on the board/chart paper ( I type mine on transparencies
and put them up on the overhead) and two flyswatters ( I get mine at the dollar store).
To play: Split the students onto two teams. 1 person per team goes to the board (projection screen)and listens to the teachers clue/definition. The first student that SWATS the correct word gets a point for their team. The team with the most points wins.
My only Rule: You can only SWAT
once per turn. If you swat the wrong word you can't swat another word (I do this because I feel that it stops the students from just guessing)
Try it! I hope your students learn and have fun with it!
Misty
