Another smile

I work with small groups of kids for reading. One of my second grade groups consists of 4 children, 3 boys and one girl. The little girl has bangs than hang to her chin and are constantly in her eyes. I finally bought a
card of barrettes to keep in her folder for her to use while we work. I have told her she could take them with her when she leaves, but she automatically puts some in her hair when she comes and dutifully returns them to her folder when she leaves each day. On Friday I saw her in the hallway, barrettes in place! When she came to class I had to comment "Taylor, you look so pretty today

when we can see those lovely eyes!" Her cheeks got a bit rosy when one little guy added, "She sure does!" and another asked if they were new. It was so cute to see what sweet kids they are, but I guess I already knew that. Now I am wondering if we will see barrettes on Monday.
