I am sorry to say that there really is not book per say. It was a 3 day workshop that I took on a program that Margaret Averill has developed here in Canada called Empowered Beginnings. It is a wonderful program that helps
all readers at all ages (older students that are struggling and all elementary). It teaches the phoneme sounds with pictures as to how their mouth looks,as well as vowel sounds, including little stories that she has developed to remember the sounds. And they do remember the stories and therefore the sounds! It incorporates poetry with songs that she has developed or you are free to
find your own. In my classroom it has helped so much with reading, spelling and writing and the students love it. They find it easier to sound out words and to spell. It also fits easily into any reading program that you are using I have found so far. I had a Kindergarten class one year and by the end of the year most of the students were able to sound out basic words and write in their journal. It was amazing! Anyway, I do not know how well I have described it. I am sorry that it is not as easy as giving the name of a book. There are books to go with the program but it is so much more than that.
