Scheduling
By JulieP

Clip to ScrapBook
My schedule last year was HORRIBLE! This one going here, that one going there. UGH! Then the benchmarks. Sounds like you are now in the district that I left last year.
First of all, determine which of your pullouts
are actually taking the TAKS. They should be getting what they need in the afternoon rotation. The title one with the prescription reading is going to help with the TAKS reading. You could use the Title 1 grade as a partial reading grade.
Next, talk with the ESL teacher and see what subjects she works on with your students. This will give you an idea as to how to work everything around.
Maybe you can send work with them.
I would do 2 reading groups in the morning, 30 minutes each. Start at 8:10. Then in the afternoon, do 30 minutes of whole class reading instruction. I would work on Math from 9:10 until activity. Split your social studies and science up into three weeks. First three weeks work on Social Studies, next three weeks work on Science.
Email me if you would like anymore help. I had to change my schedule everytime that I went into an ARD last year, which was often. I had 15 kids with IEPs.
