NCLB and After school situation
By Tristan

Re: the parent conference: Can you send home the surveys in advance? Maybe someone at home could translate. If the parents don't speak any English, try to find an interpreter at your school who can help you out (someone in the office, a TA, anyone.) As far as the after school stuff, I would just have the kids do their homework and try to help them with that. I have dealt with similar situations where the books haven't come in until well into the 2nd semester for an ENTIRE CLASS! There's only so much you can do. Try not to stress.
