Schools Out for the Summer! ... Right.
By Juli

Clip to ScrapBook
When people say, "Oh, how nice that you have the summer off", I want to scream! It takes most of the summer to recoup from the previous year, on top of preparing for the next year, and taking wksps., classes, etc. to keep
up on it all, or get a 2nd job to make ends meet. I'm in the last category. Don't have anything lined up as yet. I don't even know where I'm going to be next year. On our last day of school the principal and district coordinator came and told me I may be in a different building next year but they didn't know which one or when they would know. I have tenure and a signed contract for next
year but that doesn't make it any easier.
I try to remember JFK's quote "Lord, give me the strength to change the things I can, the courage to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference". It's difficult to let go and hopefully by the end of summer we can be rejuvinated. Give yourself some R and R time. When school starts, do something different for the beginning of the year to motivate yourself. I know it's easier said than done. I'm going to try and read at least 1 motivational book for myself this summer to get psyched up for next year. Good luck to you!
