For the end of the year gift I use my scholastic points and order whatever book is the $ .99 (15pts) book for each child. If its really close to the end for you they will 2 day express with points also. I also have a sweet good-bye poem that I print out on pretty computer paper and add a short note to personalize it for each student. they get a computer generated book mark with ladybugs (class theme) on it. I laminate and cut them with scrapbooking scissors, hole punch and tie on a tassle of yarn. You can find end of the year poems on the web site the#####.com under themes.
