merit ok..if done by average growth

I do not have a problem with merit pay, for the many reasons listed in all of the posts. My only problem is that favoritism will come into play if coworkers or adminsitration "decide" who will get the pay. My principal would just give it to everyone to avoid confict.If we must use test scores, then a class average of previous year compared to average at end of this year. Could base pay increase on average growth of class as a whole. Not on level or compared to other classess
