These are great lists. I find more titles each year by encouring my students to share books that they have read in the last year. I ask them to recommend quality books to the rest of the class as they read them. This is such a more natural way of passing on a good book.I had a chuckle when you included "(be careful with this one)" after Harry Potter. When I first started teaching (ages ago), I would have written the exact same thing after The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. This book (and the rest of the series)was very controversial. Can anyone tell me if it still is, where you teach?
