fitting it all in

Clip to ScrapBook
Something that was recommended to me, that I adopted, is to alternate science and social studies. In other words, teach science for 2 weeks (during a designated block of time each day), then teach social studies for the next 2 weeks (during that same block of time). I didn't think we'd be able to teach all the benchmarks for each subject that way, but we really could. It made it easier for the kids, too. They didn't get overwhelmed with too many subjects in one day. I did it last year and plan to continue.
