At the end of this year, I took it one step farther...we had a turtle themed party (green theme). I arranged all the desk in a circle and covered them with green paper. I drew a face at the front and taped green legs and tail to the legs of the desks in the appropriate places. Then I took different colored green streamers and criss-crossed them through the middle. We had green cups, green plates, green forks, green napkins, green balloons, green juice (Hawaiian Punch), green soda (M.Dew), green ice cream (lime sherbert), green Dorritos (guacamole flavor), green hawaiian lays, a turtle cake, and even a turtle pinatta. My kids had the most fun. They were so surprised too. I bought all the supplies and asked for donations to keep it a surprise. I even asked them to wear green the day of the party but told them it was for "good luck in fourth grade". For our sping carnival, we had to make a craft to sell in the general store. We made turtles out of tiny flower pots. We turned the upside down, painted them green, glued green pom poms on them for legs and a head, and glued eyes on. I hope my ideas will help you out.
