Dear J.E., Thank you for your thoughts. The youngster's name is "generic." I guess that I was very frustrated when I posted my original message. I am not unprofessional. I care deeply about my kids. I do not think | that medication is the "umbrella/answer" or cure-all for the types of behavior that was mentioned. I never mentioned medication to the child's parents or in my posting. I was trying to figure out what the root of the problem was. I tried several times at different points in the year to get to know him. On the last day of school he told me that a significant other was in jail. This |
| info. points to what I suspected in which his home life may be in turmoil. I did pray a lot for this family. I feel like you have judged me and attached some labels to me that are unkind. Perhaps I read your response wrongly? I can misinterpret what people say sometimes. Please understand that I am a kind person, as I'm sure that you are too. You sound like that you do care a lot about your students. I am not an enemy of anyone. I just needed some input as to what I could do to help this child. I was hurt by some of your comments. I have been told that I care too much sometimes. Any ideas how to get to know a student better? I know you say to talk to him/her. How about some activities? Would you be so gracious to kindly post a helpful response? Some positive comments please? Please do not assume negative things about me. You do not know me.Thank you kindly for your time and understanding, j.c.
