Why not tell your principal just that...you like planning over the summer? Any principal worth their salt should admire your dedication and desire for preparation. What student deserves to be in a class where the teacher hasn't had time to prepare...unless, of course, there was a REASON for a last min. move. Doesn't sound like that's the case in your situation.

Try talking to her one on one. Maybe she'll let you in on the secret! Hope so.
