4th grade lesson

I student taught for seven weeks in a fourth grade classroom. Not only are their bodies changing, but I also had a group of boys who passed gas (extremely stinky) often. They didn't do it to be cute or funny, and often would be embaressed...it just happens. My cooperating teacher always had a can of air freshner on her desk and would casually get it and randomly spray throughout the day...not just when it happened so it wasn't such a big deal. For my going away present, they got me a gift bag full of different things. One thing was a can of air freshner. The kids laughed so hard when I got to that part. I told them that keeping air freshner handy was one of the few things I learned teaching them that I hadn't learned in my kindergarten placement!
