I think that's the purpose of brain break-to have a time where they can shut down completely and regroup. We watch Reading Rainbow at 12:30 Central time on PBS. Some fall asleep (K), others watch it. Another idea would be having an unrequired DEAR time or an art activity. But I think the idea behind it is having a time where the kids don't have to use their brain!! You could also play classical music and have them rest their eyes.
