Binders!!!
By Laura H.

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 4th and we use binders with tab dividers. The first day of class is spent going over binder expectations and organization. I sometimes have a "shake test" where I hold their binder up and shake it. If something falls out, they owe $3 of our classroom money. I know this would look different for 8th grade, but if 4th graders can handle it, I would think 8th graders could. Each tab is very specific about what goes in that section. I do spell out where each individual papers goes when I hand stuff out, but it is SOOO much nicer to copy things with 3-hole punch instead of gluing things into a notebook.
