1. I don't weigh grades. Everything is worth the same. I feel that it's not fair to weigh grades because some students don't do
3. Late work is a 0, but it still needs to be turned in before the student can take the test. 4. It's get hard at times to correct papers. Sometimes I just give completion points for assignments. When I give completion points, I allow the student to correct their own. Other times when I don't give completion points, I may let them correct their work; however, I don't have them trade. They correct their own. I feel that their grade is their business, not another student, so I don't have students correct each other's papers. Yes, by allowing students to correct their own, cheating may take place. I usually pick 2-4 questions to look at. If any of those are wrong and marked right, I check the whole thing. They also lose double the points. For example, if the assignment was worth 10 points and had a score of 8/10, they really get a 4/10 if they cheated. I don't give a 0 because sometimes it's an honest mistake, but there's no way to really prove if they cheated. If it happens habitually, though, that's when I get parents and/or the principal involved. Hope this helps!
