I assume you were asking me, but if not, just ignore!

I meant that I send home the work we've done in class so that parents know what we are working on (4B GR charts like narrative elements or story maps, but also worksheets
that we've practiced on parts of speech, etc.) This is where I get the majority of my classwork grade for report cards, etc.

I grade one or two pieces of classwork a week (usually a story map-ish piece) because I consider it all practice, and we don't do many worksheets. I keep anecdotal records about how each kid is participating, understanding, etc.

Your last question is very

hard to answer quickly. What students do for reading is all of the 4B stuff (including Writing Workshop.) I spend 2 hours a day on 4B. We talk about books, practice word relationships, and kids read books on their level and share them one-on-one with me. Most of the work in my classroom depends on student participation. I don't do a lot of workbook/worksheet stuff. I hope that makes sense.
