one other comma use
By ShariC

Clip to ScrapBook
Another important comma use, which might help clear up the semicolon use. A comma is used to connect two complete thoughts (could be complete sentences) if they are joined by a conjunction (ex. and, but, or, so). If you join those two thoughts without a conjunction, then use the semicolon

ex: I have blond hair, but my brother's hair is brown.
or
I have blond hair; my brother's hair is brown.
