After reading your post, I now understand why it is so important to copy any paper I put my signature on. I've always been told to do it, and I usually do. I thought sometimes it was just a waste of paper. It's because of "professionals" such as you have described that the rest of us have so much extra paperwork. It seems that it is always the few who manage to punish the rest.
