bathroom breaks

Our district tells us at our sub orientation that we are to let the kids go to the bathroom and get a drink when they ask - not to make them wait till lunch and recess. So yes - bathroom break abuse occurs. But I feel that I'm doing what I was told to do. I even have it in writing. Can I tell you though how many times I've had a neighboring teacher tell me. "I've noticed your kids taking too many bathroom breaks." By the way, I always ask them if they "really have to go" or can they wait.
