Sorry had to change my name someone else is now using it. My filing cabinet has 4 drawers. The first one I put my monthly/holiday folders into. (August, Back to school, Grandparents Day, 100th day of school, Halloween, November,| etc..) The second one I put my "unit" files into (Science and Social Studies). Look to your state course of study (i used science, social studies, and health) and come up with units that will cover all the topics. Ex: Back to school, My community, and Me& My family. These are the first 3 units I teach. They will cover social studies: community, citizenship, rules,etc.. Science:my | | body, heredity, etc. And Health heredity, hygeine, etc. The third drawer has my reading/language folders They are divided into short vowels, longvowels, syllables, comprehension stragtegies (one folder for each strategy), sentences, punctuation, capitalization, nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, etc.. You get the idea. The fourth drawer has math. I divided these folders into addition, subtraction, add 3 addends, doub. dig. add no regroup, dd sub. no regroup, dd add regroup, dd sub regroup, geometry, fractions, etc... Hope this helps. I'm going to my classroom tomorrow so I will look to see who makes the planbook I use. I have used many methods for writing lesson plans (checklists, other planbooks, and this is my favorite. I'll post again tomorrow to let you know the planbook.
