Diagramming

I totally agree! My daughter just completed sixth grade. They diagrammed all year long. She never really got it, but she can write beautifully. Diagramming is too detailed, nit-picky for her. She is a forest person, not a tree person, if you know what I mean. Give her the big picture, not all that minute detail stuff. It drove her nuts! and her Language Arts grades suffered greatly because of it. Yet, she has won several essay contests.Lori
