I am still waiting for the callback from my application (and there are another three applications going out over the next week) because the panel hasn't met yet. So I am still hoping....
You have to remember too, that
although you may know the panel somewhat, they are going to pretend you're an entirely new applicant for equity reasons. No matter how they appear to you, be friendly and tactful when talking to them.
With the younger grades, I always mention their ability to absorb and to have a real discovery about what they are learning. Parents are also a big thing at these ages, so if the school

encourages parent helpers in the classroom, say that you welcome parent commitment in particular areas of the curriculum, such as literacy time. Say you will have a class-produced newsletter for the classroom on a fortnightly basis, and provide adequate contact details to each student at the beginning of the year.
