Louis Sachar is an author my 4th graders love, especially There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom. He writes some great short chapter books about a boy name Marvin. They are part of a series. These are great for the "lower" readers. (He's the author of Holes).

My average and high readers like Jerry Spinelli. They are especially interested in and reading Crash and Loser. He also wrote Maniac Magee which was a Newbery book.

They love the ever popular Beverly Cleary. Especially the books about the mouse Ralph.

Some still enjoy the Magic Tree House Series.

Some of my low struggling readers like Junie B. Jones, because they are short chapter books. They are pretty easy, but good for those kiddos who struggle.
