management
By Susan

Clip to ScrapBook
I've done my classroom management the same way for each grade I've taught (3rd-5th). We have a list of rules and consequences. If they break a rule, they get a verbal warning, after that they mark a letter and have a consequence
(miss 1/2 recess, miss all recess, office referral). If they get 5 letters marked in 1 week, they get an automatic office referral.

Something I do to reward my students is to give a ticket at the end of the day if they didn't mark a letter. They put their number on it and it goes into a basket. I draw 2 tickets each day and they pick from my treasure chest. The rest of

the tickets stay in there all week. On Monday we start fresh. The kids love this because the good kids are recognized, but even the ones that messed up once can still get something - they just have less of a chance.
