several times during the year, i did centers with my 6th graders--they rotated through 4-6 in a day or over the course of a few days--depending on centers/topic/day.

i have 5 computers in my classroom + a laptop hooked up to a SMARTBoard (this one was usually a separate center)

if we were working on syllables--one group played a syllable pyramid contest, one group practiced reading double syllable words fast, one group worked on computers doing a website game, and one group worked at SMARTBoard doing a website quiz.

i did similar things with other reading, math, and language topics.
