Stikki notes
By Jess

Clip to ScrapBook
I do stikki note predictions. I have done it two ways. First I read to them until I get to a great stopping point. Then depending on the class/grade, I let them make a prediction. In some cases, I have given them four
reasonable choices. I write them on the board and then we put are stikki notes right onto the board. I have also just let them make individual or group predictions on their stikki note with no choices (we put these on the board too). This is five to ten minutes. Then I put them in groups and go from group to group to observe and listen. Each group finishes the story. Groups should
be looking for detailes from the story to either falsify or prove their prediction. This is fifteen to twenty minutes. We come back together and have a whole class discussion using details from the story to tell if our predictions were correct or not. This is five to ten minutes.
