Sentence strips - printing
By Silvana

Clip to ScrapBook
How to make a sentence strip template on Microsoft Word. It really works!
These instructions will vary depending on what version of Microsoft Word you have on your computer.

1.Open a blank page in Word.
2.You need
go to File ampgt; Page Setup.
3.Click the “Paper” tab.
4.In the paper size box, scroll down and select “custom size”.
5.Type in the exact width and height of your sentence strip paper. (I have 3.5 x 22 inches)
6.Select ‘Horizontal” layout then OK.
7.You will need to adjust font size.
8.It is possible to adjust top and bottom margins to make letters sit on the dotted lines.
You will have to play around with this.

It's also possible to print directly onto index cards by setting the 'rule bars' to the correct size for the card.

Look at the rulers at the top and the left-hand side of the page. The ends of the ruler bars should be gray and the rest white. The white section shows the print area for the page. By resizing these you can control the size of the printed page. By clicking on the line where the white area and gray area meet and holding down the mouse button you can adjust the size of the print area. You need to move both the top and side rulers inwards so to make the print page smaller. The number you set it to depends on the size of the card you are going to print on.
