Visual Behavior Evaluation Plan
By Sarah

Clip to ScrapBook
I have not tried this in my own class, but the teacher across the hall started it with a defiant/dsiruptive child. (This is in the 4th grade).

Get a small chartlet to tape the the child's desk. After every activity throughout
the day, the child must evaluate his or her behavior. The child puts a smiley, frowney, or stright face in one of the chartlet boxes. The teacher, also evaluates the activity, using the same system of faces. Once the child has earned so many smily faces from the teacher, he or she gets something (or gets to do something) special. (You have to know what gets the kids ticking,
and use that as leverage). Finally, when the student has even more smiley faces, he or she gets to go to the prinipal's office for a special treat only principals seems to be able to give.

This has worked well becasue it is a consistant visual reminder by being tapen on the desk, and it allows plently of opportunities to discuss the student's behavior, both bad and good.
