reading first
By maggie may

Clip to ScrapBook
Is the reading first program being dealt with a heavy hand at your school? We are not allowed to use any other materials in our classroom and the reading first coach is coming around and stripping our walls and shelves of any materials that are not Houghton Mifflin, to include a manuscript alphabet on the wall. This really seems so unnecessary and truly a bit frightening. Since when did one program become the be all and end all of education. Please let me know what's happening at your site....I'm wondering if it's just my sight that's gone haywire.
