Surprising how it remains in sync some 65 years later. The theme is urban sprawl and industrialization, so that covers technology and science. At one point the little house is transported by truck,so more science. Math is all over this book with seasons, farming and the many changes, each page adds another math concept. Hope you enjoy this as much as I have over the years, and I, too, did a similar unit with this years ago in college.THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE IS THE COMPASSION IT GENERATES. Students actually clap at the end of the reading.
