Clip to ScrapBook
1. Start slowly. You may only get to 2 activities a week during Word Work in the beginning. That's okay.

2. Modeling is very important. Teach the kids what's expected of them for each block, which means you need to think it out.

3. Follow your gut, teach to your kids. Remember this is a framework, not a strict program.

4. Go to the books for ideas and strategies. They really are wonderful. I recommend you have the "bible," MxM phonics, and 3rd grade writing workshop book. I eventually bought the general Guided Reading book for more ideas, too.

5. Come here to ask specific questions and to share good ideas!
