When we write words on the front, each day is different. Monday it's ABC order, Tuesday we write them by number of syllables (least to greatest, falling back to ABC order if there are words with the same number of syllables.) Once they learn cursive, we write the words in both print and cursive. I also use the four weekly words as bonus words on spelling tests.
