I would think at least for next year you would be safe with a signed contract. A lot of districts require you to attend some workshops during the summer. Mine requires us to pick four days. We know this in advance and we get to make the choices. They have to be district sponsored training. We cannot go out on our own. I would be more upset with the timing. She did not give you enough time to plan. It should also come out of other days because your contract should state how many days you must work. Ours is 185 and that includes the four summer days.
